Sonny Schambeau was born February 26, 1956 in Bayou La Batre’ Alabama.  Raised in Miami Florida, Sonny was "born again of the water and the spirit"  July 28, 1968, at the age of twelve in Ocala Florida. Around this time he was teaching himself to play the guitar and honing his singing skills while listening to old country and gospel 45 and LP records. Soon, he started playing the guitar and singing during church services.

At the age of seventeen, he started traveling across the country as part of a singing/preaching trio from his local church. They soon recorded a LP album, thus launching Sonny into the ministry as an evangelist and singer/songwriter.

In November 1977, he and his wife Annette were married in Tulsa Oklahoma, who after about a year moved to Houston Texas. Two kids and a U-Haul later, moved back to Oklahoma. In 1989, Sonny and Annette started a Home Missions church in the western Oklahoma town of Weatherford.  A congregation of about forty people was raised in a short three and a half year period.  The Schambeaus left Weatherford in 1992 to assume the position of Executive Pastor in Dallas Texas, with Pastor Tom Foster at Dallas First Church.  1995 called for another move to Selma Alabama where they assumed the position of Pastor for  about six and a half years. During which time, Sonny served as Alabama District Home Missions Director, and also traveled with the The Roberts, Schambeau & Travis Band”.

In the summer of 2001, he and his wife of 29 years felt the call back to evangelistic work and are currently travelling full time across the country and abroad.

The Schambeaus have two children... daughter Lacy, of Lexington Park Maryland, and son, Joshua and his wife Erica, who reside in Dallas Texas. 

Sonny has four solo projects available "Lover of My Soul"  "How The West Was Won"  "Where The Love Light Gleams" and his latest album called "Positive Influence."  He is currently working on new material for a brand new CD.  Sonny Schambeau is an ordained minister and endorsed evangelist with the United Pentecostal Church International.
